Baik's Village

YoungAn has established ‘Baik's Village’, a welfare facility dedicated to supporting communities where the company operates both domestically and internationally. Each facility is donated to the respective country or Catholic organization and continues to receive ongoing support from Young An. Currently, seven Baik's Villages are operational worldwide, including one in Korea, with plans to establish four more in the future, bringing the total to eleven. Remarkably, the Korean facility operates solely on internal funding, independent of government support since 1985.

Baik’s Village in Korea

Date of Establishment: September 9, 1986

Location: Yeonbong-ri, Hongcheon, Gangwon-do

The first Baik’s Village was established in Hongcheon and was established with the purpose of commemorating the reunification with Beattie, the American soldier who saved the life of Chairman Baik Sunghak during the Korean war.

Baik’s Village in China

Date of Establishment: August 24, 1994

Location: Xingyuanzhen, Mudanjiang, Heilongjiang, China

Baik’s Village in China is situated in the birthplace of Chairman Baik Sunghak, where his grandfather and father were involved in independence movements and social work. The facility was established to honor the legacy of Baik Sunghak's ancestors and to enhance education while supporting the welfare of both Korean-Chinese and Han-Chinese communities in China.

Baik’s Village in Sri Lanka

Date of Establishment: October 21, 1993

Location: Galle, Sri Lanka

Baik’s Village in Sri Lanka was founded to assist individuals who became orphans or lost their families during the civil war, a cause close to Chairman Baik's heart from his own childhood experiences. Young An has donated the facility to the Teresa Sisters Association, a Catholic organization, and provides annual support for its ongoing operations.

Baik’s Village in Costa Rica

Date of Establishment: December 10, 1994

Location:Caltago, Costa Rica

In Costa Rica, the number of orphans is notably high due to single mothers following Catholic rules and abandoning their children. Baik Sunghak, who himself grew up as an orphan, established a dedicated welfare facility for orphans. This facility was donated to a Catholic organization in Costa Rica, with Young An providing annual support for its operational costs.

Baik’s Village in Vietnam

Date of Establishment: December 7, 2004

Location: Binh Minh, Vinh Long, Vietnam

Baik's Village in Vietnam was established to enhance the welfare and education of orphans and individuals who lost their families due to the Vietnam War. Young An donated the facility to the Vietnamese government and continues to provide annual operational support.

Baik’s Village in Ethiopia

(A joint project between Baik’s Foundation and World Vision, an international relief organisation)
Date of Establishment: February 27, 2010

Location: Gulele region, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Baik's Village in Ethiopia was established to express gratitude for the country's significant role in the Korean War. In addition to its original purpose, Baik's Village provides care and education to children suffering from hunger and lack of learning opportunities. Young An donated the facility to the Ethiopian government and continues to support its annual operating budget.

Baik’s Village in Honduras

Date of Establishment: May 10, 2018

Location: Tegucigalpa, Honduras

Baik's Village in Honduras was established with financial assistance of $100,000 from Young An's affiliates—AJM, Dorfman-Pacific, and Outdoor—along with an additional $80,000 from Clark. The facility was donated to the Catholic Diocese of Honduras, with Young An providing annual support for its operating expenses.
